When exporting based on a filter (search with filter -> export) we get all products matching those filters (any product that has a variant matching the filter). Causes issues when you want to export based on variant attributes such as color (e.g. exporting all black t-shirts will give all t-shirt products where any of the variants are black, and also include all the other colors from the same base product).
