Make it possible to add variant to block with product picker

As it is now it's only possible to link to a base product within a block. My client would like to be able to show different variants in a block but the product pointer does not allow that.

    Also, you cannot select mulitple links... so I would say this idea is not shipped, yet.

    Would be nice to be able to limit what type of links the user should be able to choose, similar to the Pointer, where you can limit the pointer to only images, and so on.

    For the link, it would be nice to be able to limit it to multiple link types, such as "base products" and "variants" only, and remove all other options.

    Hi,
    Today we shipped version 8.8, with a new link field type that allows linking to both base products and variants (as well as pages, categories, media and external URLs ). The blocks in our MVC accelerator are not yet updated, but I believe this link field type should do the trick for you.
